Famous volleyball coach leaves club! "I am grateful for these five years"

Laurent Tillie (born 1963) is one of the most famous coaches in men's volleyball in recent years. With the French national team, which he coached from 2012 to 2021, he won the Olympic championship (Tokyo 2020), the gold medal at the European Championships in 2015, won the World League twice and won medals in the Nations League.

Since 2020, he has led the Panasonic Panthers team (renamed Osaka Bluteon in 2024). He won two silver and three bronze medals in the Japanese league with them. Now, he will continue his adventure in this country as the coach of the Japanese national team.

- It was an honour to be the coach of Osaka Bluteon. Five years at the highest level was a fantastic challenge that allowed me to discover Japanese volleyball and the kindness of the people. I am grateful for these five years and wish the club all the best, Tillie said.
